I don’t have one but my advice is that you simply talk about what has made you unique with respect to life experiences and talk about how osteopathic medicine is all about caring for the patient and throw in the word holistic a lot, they like to see that. Make it sound as if you are absolutely in love with the holistic approach to to care of the surgical patient and that MD’s fail to bring this ‘holistic’ care to the table and thus it’s so important to be an osteopathic physician in the year 2011. I don’t know what they want to hear but I would just keep talking about holistic as if I even know what the hell that means.

The meat was very tender and tasty, but it tastes like beef, not deer. Any thoughts for making a more “gamey” jerky? Everyone who tastes it doesn’t believe it’s deer.

I think it was in the seasoning. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds delicious but it would easily disguise the gaminess of the venison.

don’t let these kind of people get to you. do u know how many ppl siad that kind of stuff abouyt me, but worse? they said it to my face in front of others and at first it bothered me, but then i just IGNORED IT. it made such a difference. ppl ike that want attention and they want to be right. insead of arguing or let these ppl bust ur mood, ignore them and eventually they’ll ignore you too and in the end u’ll be better off. trust me.

I can’t find any good history on beef jerky. I know that’s it’s very old and they used it to preserve beef. But how exactly was it done back in the ole west. I bought a kit for doing it and it seems a little technical even with instructions.

I’ve been making delicious ground beef jerky but the store where I bought the spices have quit carrying them. I e-mailed the company but never got an answer. I need to know if it is possible to add some spices from the local grocery store to make tasty ground beef jerky. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Barb.

I have used my own mixture after my seasoning packet was no longer available either. got this from Allrecipes.com
1 pound lean grnd beef
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
mix with meat and seal tightly.. Refrigerate 12 to 24 hours then form and dry as usual. I personally like a touch of liquid smoke as well.
